Actors Needed for Ad Campaign

Iowa City – “This fall, Goodwill of the Heartland will be launching a new donation drive campaign. The campaign will feature both print materials and a television ad campaign. We are looking for people with acting experience for both a photo shoot and TV ad campaign. We will compensate participants with $50 gift certificates to our stores. If you’ve shopped Goodwill, you know $50 in our stores could be comparable to $500 in other stores. The certificates can be used personally, or perhaps for the costuming needs of the theatre organization they are affiliated with. With multiple participants, this could add up quickly.

In addition, our professional photographer would be willing to take a “head shot” suitable for talent portfolios.

The photo shoot will be an open call. Anyone interested in participating simply needs to RSVP to me letting me know they are planning on being at our photo shoot, which is scheduled from 10am -4pm Tuesday, September 23rd. Participants need to indicate what time during that day they would prefer. The shoot will take between 20 – 30 minutes.

The photo shoot will also serve as an audition for the TV commercials. Participants will be asked to read through a script. Those selected will receive an additional $100 for their participation, for a total of $150 towards any purchases made at any of our 14 Goodwill locations. We are looking for a diverse range of talent. The only age requirement is that participants must be at least 18 years of age.

We are on a tight production schedule. As such, there’s a short turnaround time for participants. Interested participants need to email bwatkins@goodwillheartland.org by 5pm on Friday September 19th.

Those selected for the TV shoot would need to be available the Tuesday following the photo shoot on September 30th between 10am and 4pm. The time spent shooting the TV Ad will be between 30 and 40 minutes.

Both the photo shoot and TV Ad production will take place at the Goodwill Work Center, 1410 South 1st Avenue in Iowa City.”
