Iowa City – In 1997, Dreamwell Theatre presented its first show in the Unitarian Universalist Society space – Of Mice and Men. Since then, they have produced over 60 plays in that space. With the sale of the building and the exodus of the Unitarian congregation, Dreamwell has produced its final show there, last spring’s production of Bob: A Life in Five Acts. And now it’s time to say Farewell.
To celebrate their long history, Dreamwell will hold a farewell event on September 26 at 7 pm in the Unitarian Universalist basement. Food, drinks, and lots of memories will be shared.
“We have a couple of theatrical moments planned,” said Matt Falduto, Dreamwell founder. “But mostly, it’ll be people sharing their memories. I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun, albeit a touch sad.”
Dreamwell invites all Dreamwell actors, directors, tech people, and audience members to join them as they bid the UU adieu. Bring your favorite Dreamwell memories, and feel free to bring pictures, posters, props, programs, and scripts from past shows.
An RSVP is not required but will help them better plan the event. Send your RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. The event is free.
Dreamwell’s 2015-16 season will be performed at Public Space One.
