Riverside’s Glass Menagerie Opens Tomorrow

*press release from Riverside Theatre*

Iowa City – Riverside Theatre brings Tennessee William’s The Glass Menagerie to the stage, November 6 -22, 2015 at 213 N. Gilbert Street, Iowa City. Tickets: $12-$30. Details at riversidetheatre.org or 319-338-7672.

Viewed through a veil of memory and regret, the Wingfield family struggles to negotiate the past, the future and each other in depression-era St. Louis. Both dreamlike and shatteringly real, Tennessee Williams’ iconic American classic examines a family on the edge of the abyss.

“The Glass Menagerie” is a co-production with Cornell College, directed by Steven Marzolf, featuring Jim Van Valen (Tom), Jody Hovland (Amanda), Catherine Backer (Laura), and Aaron Weiner (Jim). This is the 11th collaboration between Riverside Theatre & Cornell College since 1996. The show is designed by Scott Olinger (scenic), Kristen Geisler (lighting & projection), Jenny Nutting Kelchen (costumes), and Don Schneider (sound).
